Moscow joins Brookes Family

INTERNATIONAL Scholastic organisation Brookes Education Group is to launch a $35M school in Moscow.

Brooked Education Group (BEG) currently operates schools out of Silicon Valley, USA, Cambridge, UK, Seoul, South Korea and two schools in Vancouver Island, Canada.

During the MIPIM real estate exhibition conference in Cannes last week, BEG and leading Russian urban planning organisation Pioneer Group signed an agreement that will see Brookes Moscow open by September 2018.

David Rose, Director Brookes Education Europe, Africa and the Middle East said: “This is a very exciting time for our group and for our community. Partnering with influential, forward-thinking and creative groups such as Pioneer gives us the opportunity to share our vision and approaches to teaching and learning with a wider community.”

The state-of-the-art, three-storey school, designed by architects Nikken Sekkei and Dutch designers DMV Architects, is part of a major residential development located in the heart of Moscow’s Botanical Gardens district. The 800 pupil capacity school will welcome local and international students to its campus and will offer the chance to study for the International Baccalaureate programmes. Students will also have access to BEG’s family of schools and the opportunity to study abroad.

Mr Rose said: “Academic achievement is a serious goal in all Brookes schools but so is personal development, the acquisition of soft-skills, emotional intelligence, digital agility, intercultural awareness, independence and the promotion of individual talents and that is just what parents, employers and higher education are looking for.”

BEG’s expansion into Russia comes days after the group announced its founding of Brookes Bangalore. Developed in partnership with Krupanidhi Group of Institutions, the school is expected to launch from September 2017 and shall provide schooling for up to 500 pupils aged from three to 18 years old.
